No changes among the top 10 in the men's and women's rankings after Lahti


    2009 European Bowling Tour Rankings

    2009KOOskuPalermaa.jpg2009VONinaFlack.jpgAfter the conclusion of the Ebonite Lahti Open, the 12rh of 15 stops of the 2009 European Bowling Tour, the top 10 in the EBT men's and women's rankings remained unchanged. Both defending ranking champions, Osku Palermaa (left), Finland on the men's side and Nina Flack (right), Sweden, on the women's side held on to the lead with 426 and 400 ranking points, respectively.

    Palermaa is 57 points ahead of Dominic Barrett, England, 369, with Dennis Eklund another 26 points behind in third place with 343. Martin Larsen, both Sweden, remained in fourth place with 330.

    3-time EBT ranking champion Paul Moor, England, and Norway's Tore Torgersen, moved up two places into fifth and sixth with 326 and 316 points, respectively.

Mads SandbĂŠkken, Norway, 290. Lahti Open champion Tomas Leandersson (left), Sweden, leaped into 15th place with 190.

    Flack maintained a slim 9-point lead over Nicki Ainge (right), England, who is second with 391 after a third place finish in the women's rankings in Lahti.

    Places 3-8 also remained unchanged: 3. Nicole Sanders, Netherlands, 365; 4. Mai Ginge Jensen, Denmark, 338; 5. Veronica Lantto, Sweden, 326; 6. Diana Zavjalova, Latvia, 321; 7. Britt BrĂžndsted, Denmark, 296; and 8. Kamilla Kjeldsen, Denmark, 288.

Vanessa Timter (right), Germany, who was the top ranked female bowler in Lahti got her first ranking points this season and is tied for 55th place with 50 points.

    The top 16 men and the top 16 women at the end of the 2009 EBT season will qualify for the EBT Masters to be held in Vienna, Austria, from May 3-4, 2010.

    The EBT Tour will continued this week with the Ebonite International Luxembourg Open. The tournament is the 13th stop of the 2009 European Bowling Tour and one of the Tour's "Challenger" events. The tournament will be held from Oct 20-25, 2009 at X-Treme Bowling & Billard in Foetz, Luxembourg.
