Michael Mak beats Eric Tseng in all-Hong Kong Boys Masters stepladder finals

    Korea's Shin Seung Hyeon earns bronze

    2010AsYCEricTsengMichaelMakShinSeungHyeon.jpgIn a close title match, between the Doubles champions from Hong Kong, No. 1 seed Michael Mak (center) defeated No. 3 Eric Tseng (left) by 5 pins, 434-429, to end the 15th Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships at Cozmo Bowling Center in Salmiya City, Kuwait with victory in Boys Masters.

    It was the third gold medal for Mak, who also won in All Events and the fifth medal in as many events after bronze in Singles and silver in Team.

    Tseng shot a huge game to eliminate Singles champion Shin Seung Hyeon (right), Korea, in the opening match, 268-189. He took a slim 3-pin lead after beating Mak in the first game of the title match, over two games total pinfall, 227-224. Mak rebounded with a 210-202 win in the second game to wrap up the title. Tseng took silver and Shin got bronze.

    58 boys from 15 countries - Australia, China, DPR Korea, Egypt, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Macau, Malaysia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and UAE - competed for gold, silver and bronze medals in Singles, Doubles, 4-player Team, All Events and Masters.
