Al-Suwaidi defends his title in Asian Bowling Federation Tour Kuwait leg

    2010ABFT01HussainAlSuwaidiSheikhTalal.jpgHussain Al-Suwaidi, UAE, successfully defended his title in the Asian Bowling Federation Tour Kuwait leg when he defeated Chester King, Philippines in the title match, 236-191, Thursday at Cozmo Bowling Center in Salmiya City, Kuwait.

    The top 16 Asians of the 7th Kuwait International Open advanced to the opening event of the 2010 ABF Tour.

    2010ABFT01HussainAlSuwaidi2.jpgAl-Suwaidi, (right) who missed the cut for the Round of 16 in the Kuwait Open by three pins, eliminated Tomokatsu Yamashita, Japan, in the first round, 258-196, and went on to defeat Mohammed Kamel, Kuwait, in the quarterfinal, 248-190. The semifinal match against Kuwait Open runner-up, Zulmazran Zulkifli, Malaysia, was the closest encounter with 205-195 in favor of the Arab.

    King, who finished the Kuwait Open in 7th place, had a slow start into the ABF Tour leg but survived the opening match against Yannaphon Larpapharat, Thailand, 197-190.

    King easily topped Naif Oqab, UAE, in the quarterfinal, 217-162, and then posted his highest game in the 245-212 victory over Khaled Al-Dubyyan, Kuwait:

    The second stop of the 2010 Asian Bowling Federation Tour will be held in Saudi Arabia on April 9 immediately following the 4th Kingdom International Open Bowling Championship at Universal Bowling Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
