Team USA ends PABCON Championship of the Champions with victory in Team Masters



    Aseret Zetter, Luis Olivo claim Individual Masters titles

    2010PCCoCJohnJanawiczBrendaEdwards.jpgTeam USA waited until the last discipline to win its first gold medal and to end the PABCON Championship of the Champions with victory in Team Masters. In the title match Brenda Edwards and John Janawicz (pictured left) defeated Patricia De Faria and Luis Olivo, Venezuela, two-games-to-one.

    Olivo and Aseret Zetteralso earned the first gold medals for Venezuela and Mexico when they won the men's and women's Masters titles Thursday at Metrobowl in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

    Zetter defeated Singles and All Events gold medalist Sofia Granda, Guatemala, two-game-to-one, while Olivo swept 2006 Masters champ, John Janawicz, United States, in best-of-three games format.

    The PABCON Championship of the Champions 2010 was contested on the 34-ft. WTBA Stockholm (short) and the 44-ft. WTBA London (long) patterns. Two players - one woman and one man - from each of the 10 participating PABCON member federations (Ecuador has send a man only) bowled on dual lane condition for the titles in Women's and Men's Singles, Mixed Doubles and All Events culminating with the Masters portion of the event on Thursday, May 20.
