All USBC members are eligible to compete and have a chance to join Team USA in 2011 by finishing among the top three men and top three women, who will earn automatic spots on the team.

In early November, the National Selection Committee has already selected seven women and six men to join the elite squad.

To be considered at this stage for selection to 2011 Team USA, men were required to be exempt players on the Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour, while the women must have been former Professional Women's Bowling Association/Ladies Professional Bowlers Tour members. Players who were on Team USA at least once since 2000 were also eligible for consideration.

The committee picked PBA super stars Walter Ray Williams Jr., Chris Barnes, Wes Malott, Bill O'Neill, Patrick Allen and Tommy Jones.

On the women's side, Kelly Kulick, Liz Johnson, Shannon Pluhowsky, Tennelle Milligan, Shannon O'Keefe, Stefanie Nation and Carolyn Dorin-Ballard were the selections.

After the conclusion of the 2011 USBC Team USA Trials the National Selection Committee will pick another two men and two women from the Team Trials field to complete the team.

Competition will consist of 36 qualifying games in four nine-game blocks, each block being contested on a different lane-conditioning pattern. All bowling is on a scratch basis. The lengths of the 2011 Team USA Trials patterns will be one long, two medium and one short pattern from the WTBA pattern bankfound. The specific patterns will be released onsite at registration.

Daily squad leaders will receive $500 each (one man and one woman); daily runners-up will receive $250. Team Trials champions will receive $1,000; other qualifying members of USBC Team USA 2011 receive $500.

Team USA will represent the United States in several international events throughout 2011, including the Pan American Games, the Women's World Championships, the Pan American Bowling Confederation Men's Championships and the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup.

USBC Youth members may also participate in the 2011 USBC Team USA Trials and in addition to competing for spots on Team USA, there will be spots on Junior Team USA 2011 up for grabs.

The top two boys and top two girls at the Team USA Trials, who are 20 years old or younger before Jan. 1, 2011, regardless if they are USBC Youth or Adult members, will earn automatic spots on Junior Team USA 2011.

The National Selection Committee will select two additional boys and two additional girls to join the team. The National Selection Committee will select from players who competed in either the Team USA Trials or who advanced to the match play portion of the USBC Junior Gold Championships, which were held in July 2010 in Indianapolis.
