Suartz, Vieira, Scheer, Martins win Brazilian Pan American Games Eliminator

    2011PAGBRAEliminatorTop2.jpgMarcelo Suartz, Márcio Vieira, Marizete Scheer and Stephanie Martins will represent Brazil in the men's and women's division at the 16th Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, in October.

    11 men and nine women competed in the Pan American Games Eliminator which was organized by the Brazilian Bowling Federation CBBOL at Barra Center Bowling in Rio de Janeiro from March 4-9, 2011.

Marcelo Suartz (right), who studies in the United States at Webber International University, totaled 7687 pins and averaged 213.53, to easily win the men's eliminator by 623 pins.

    Suartz outaveraged his nearest competitor, Márcio Vieira (left), by more than 17 pins. The USBC silver level coach toppled 7064 pins, an average of 196.22, to land in second place 93 pins ahead of Renan Zoghaib, who was third with 6971.

Scheer had 7021, a 195.03 average, while Martins checked in with 7020 (195.00). Roseli Santos was 51 pins behind in third place with 6969 (193.58).

    2011PAGLogo.jpgThe XVI Pan American Games are an Americas version of the Olympic Games which includes the Olympic Program sports and others that are not part of the Olympics. The Games will run October 13-30 in Guadalajara, Mexico with the bowling competition featuring Singles and Doubles events scheduled for Oct. 22-27 at 42-lane Bolerama Tapatío.
