ETBF announces dates and venues of the 2012 European Bowling Tour

    2012EBTLogo.jpgThe presidium of the European Tenpin Bowling Federation (ETBF) has announced the dates and venues for the 2012 European Bowling Tour. The 13th edition of the Tour will consist of record 23 tournaments, two "Platinum" (minimum 100.000 Euro prize fund), five "Gold" (min. 60.000 €), nine "Silver" (min. 40.000 €) and seven "Satellite" (min. 20.000 €) tournaments.

    20 out of 21 EBT tournaments from the 2011 season will return in 2012, only the organizers of the English Open have decided to take a break in 2012. The three newcomers are the Croatia Open (Satellite), the Brunswick Italia Challenge (Silver) and the Brunswick French Open (Silver).

    The total prize fund of the 2012 EBT will be approximately 1.2 million Euro. Traditionally the Tour will kick of right after New Year's Day with the Brunswick Ballmaster Open in Finland, which offers the third-highest prize fund in 2012 with 90.300 Euro.

    Like in 2011, offering the highest prize fund are the two "Platinum" events, the Brunswick Euro Challenge (106.000 €) and the Qatar Bowling Open (125.000 €).

    The top 12 men and the top 12 women in the 2012 EBT rankings will qualify for the for the 6th EBT Masters 2013, which will be conducted in Bratislava immediately following the BNC Open. The 2013 Masters features eleven games round robin match play followed by a three-player stepladder final.
