USA Boys, Puerto Rican girls take U-20 Doubles gold at PABCON Youth Championships

    Colombia's Mosquera/Charry win the title in U-16 Mixed Doubles


    2011PYCNeishaCardonaKristieLopez.jpgThe Junior Team USA boys pairing of EJ Tackett and Andrew Koff (pictured left, r-l) and the girls duo Kristie Lopez and Neisha Cardona (right, r-l) earned the gold medals in boys and girls doubles on Tuesday night at the 2011 Pan American Bowling Confederation Youth Championships.

    Tackett/Koff totaled 2711 for six games, an average of 225.91, to win the first gold medal of the championships for the United States. Tackett led the way with 1363, while Koff added 1348 at Cibao Bowling Center in Santiago de Los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.

    In the girls division, Junior Team USA's Jessica Earnest and Kaitlin Quinn (below left, r-l) took the lead on the opening squad but eventually finished in second place to take the silver with 2462. Quinn led the duo with 1,270, while Earnest shot 1,192.

    Danielle Lemoine and Melissa Courchense (right, l-r) of Canada took the bronze medal with 2,439.

    The duo totaled 2029 for five games, an average of 169.08, to beat out Puerto Rico's Maria Chevres and Rafael Pizarro Jr. (right, r-l) for the gold by mere six pins. The Puerto Ricans took silver with 2023, while Colombia's Angela Cardoso and Carlos Felipe Saavedra (below right, r-l) got the bronze medal with 1939.
