The Kegel Training Center has announced the addition of Heather D’Errico, founder of BowlFit, as an advisory staff member. D’Errico will be making appearances at events at the Training Center to give seminars on mobility, injury prevention, functional strength training, and conditioning as it pertains to the sport of bowling.

“For far too long the importance of this aspect of the sport has been overlooked and we hope we can make more bowlers aware of the stress placed on the body during competition and how to prepare in order to become an elite bowler”, stated D’Errico.

D’Errico began BowlFit in 2014 with a mission to provide education about fitness for bowlers and training programs to the bowling community. Kegel’s Del Warren said of the partnership, “Her vision, like ours, is to improve the image of our sport by making bowlers become true athletes in every sense of the word. Her expertise will help KTC to provide students with education on what to do on AND off the lanes to truly excel for years to come.”

D’Errico obtained a Master’s degree in Exercise Science while assistant coaching for the bowling team and interning with the head strength and conditioning coach at the University of Central Missouri.

She then obtained her CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Just this fall she became a Certified Functional Strength Coach and continues to train all athletes and general fitness clients at Next Level Strength and Conditioning in Fairport, NY.

Currently D’Errico runs the website www.bowlfit.com where bowlers can go to request a customized BowlFit training program to perform on their own with the help of her video demonstrations and guidance. She also writes articles for Bowling this Month and is partnered with Bowling Revolutions to provide BowlFit seminars at clinics around the world.
