Johnson (above) won two championships in the month, the PWBA Storm Sacramento Open, followed by the GoBowling.com PWBA Players Championship. Those two titles are her 17th and 18th PWBA titles, including the 9th major title of her USBC Hall of Fame career.
The PWBA Storm Sacramento Open stepladder began with the third-seeded Diana Zavjalova, Latvia ousting fourth-seeded Danielle McEwan, Stony Point, New York, 192-163. The reigning USBC Queens champion then downed second-seeded Rocio Restrepo, Louisville, Ohio, 221-198. Johnson then avenged her USBC Queens loss to Zavjalova, 224-211 for the title.
The fourth-seeded Johnson then ran the table in the Go Bowling PWBA Players Championship stepladder finals downing third-seeded Siti Safiyah, Malaysia, 227-212, then outlasting second-seeded Lindsay Boomershine, Perry, Utah,181-178, and top-seeded Kelly Kulick, Union, New Jersey, 228-205.
Other obtaining votes this month were Walter Ray Williams Jr., winner of the USBC Senior Masters, Michael Haugen Jr., winner of the Suncoast PBA Senior U.S. Open, presented by Storm, Marshall Kent, winner of the PBA Xtra Frame Lubbock Sports Open, and E.J. Tackett, winner of the PBA Main Event Tour Finals.
