Ocando and Fernandez win 1st Spanish Masters final

Melvin Ocando Caballero (pictured) and Dulce Fernandez Rodriguez walked away the winners in the 1st Spanish Masters in Barcelona last weekend.
The players competed in a 56-game format on dual lane condition (long and short oil). Ocando felled 10643 pins and averaged 204,67 en route to lead the men's division. Fernandez posted a 9646 pinfall total, an average of 185,50.
The winners and the next five players automatically qualified for the 2006 Spanish national team. The top six men will represent Spain in the 2006 Men's World Championship at Asiad Bowling Center in Busan, Korea, from August 27 through September 9, 2006.
The top six women will participate in the 2006 Women's European Championships at Dream-Bowl in Böblingen, Germany, from August 24 through September 3, 2006.
