Both duos, however, failed to overtake Squad 1 leader, Mor AviramLiat Vizenfeld and Mor Dayan (l-r), Israel, who lead the field of 31 trios at halftime with 1937 (215.22).

2007EYCHartmannHulschRibguthBirlinger.jpg The Germans, Tina Hulsch, Janin Ribguth and Melanie Birlinger (l-r with coach Jimmy Hartmann) started strong with 664 then fell behind England after a sub-par 553 in game two.

The trio rebounded with 672 in game three to lead the second squad with 1889 pinfall total and an average of 209.89.

2007EYCGERJaninRibguth_small.jpg All Events leader Janin Ribguth (left) averaged 230.33 for the round and posted the highest 3-game set of the day with 691.

Ribguth, who set an outstanding EYC record in the Doubles event two days ago, when she posted a 1443 six-game series, an average of 240.50, widened her lead in All Events after nine of 18 games to 155 pins.

2007EYCOverallPennyMaciverWhite.jpg England's doubles gold medalists, Hayley White, right, Sarah Overall, left, and Katrina Maciver, second from right) started with 635 and added a huge 687 in game two including White's 258 game.

Needing a 616 series to edge the Israelis for the overnight lead, all the girls struggled in the last game.

Thanks to a strong finish, the trio managed 556 pins to finish with 1978 (208.67), mere 11 pins behind Germany and 59 pins off the pace for gold. "See you in the second half," was the comment from coach Andy Penny (second from left).

2007EYCHayleyWhite_small.jpg White (left) led the team with 668, the fourth-best block of the day, to remain in second place in the All Events standings with a 219.89 average overall.

This is not her favorite spot, but a familiar one for White, who already won the silver medal in All Events at the 2006 EYC.

Russians Julia Polyanskaya, Anna Turikova and Alexandra Kachurina are mere four pins behind at 1792 (199.11).
