European Bowling Tour decides upon exemption for PBA World Series

    Top-ranked man after Aalborg Int'l gets chance to bowl in 5 PBA events in August

    PBAWSOBLogo_small.jpg2009EBTLogo_small.jpgAs reported earlier the Professional Bowlers Association will start the 2009-10 PBA Tour season with a seven-tournament Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour World Series of Bowling to be held in Metro Detroit in August 2009.

    The first and the last event, PBA Motor City Open and PBA World Championship, are open field events. The other five events are limited to 72 players including three exemptions for international players.

    One spot will be awarded by the European Bowling Tour (EBT) through an agreement with the PBA. The other two spots will be chosen from player applications. Information on how to apply were not disclosed yet, however the three selections will be made in June.

    Kim Thorsgaard Jensen, Vice President of the European Tenpin Bowling Federation, EBT Director and tournament organizer of the EBT Brunswick Aalborg International has announced today that the EBT exemption will be given to the "highest ranked player in the men’s division of the European Bowling Tour after the Brunswick Aalborg International."
