Stuart Williams wins Kingdom of Bahrain Championship from top seed

Former World Ranking Masters champion and PBA exempt player, Stuart Williams (pictured left), England, defeated Hussain Al-Suwaidi, 245-216, to win the 9th Kingdom of Bahrain International Bowling Championship and the 20,000 U.S. Dollar top prize Saturday at Funland Bowling Center in Manama, Bahrain.
Williams, who earned the No. 1 seed for the stepladder finals by averaging over 240 in the semifinal round of 18, had to sit and watch the opening match of the three-player stepladder finals between second seeded Al-Suwaidi and No. 3 seed, Tim Mack, United States.
Al-Suwaidi earned the right to bowl Williams for the title in a high-scoring match, 249-232. Al-Suwaidi pocketed $10,000 for second place, while Mack, who led the first round of the finals, garnered $6,000 for third.
The top 16 Asian bowlers in the Kingdom of Bahrain Championship qualified for the fifth leg of the Asian Bowling Federation Tour Bahrain which will be held on Sunday, May 9.
