2010 Youth Euro Trophy final ends inaugural YET season in Gent

    YouthEuroTrophyLogo.jpg The finals of the first Youth Euro Trophy Tour were held on Saturday, June 5 at Bowling De Meibloem in Gent, Belgium.

    The 2009-2010 Youth Euro Trophy featured five youth tournaments
    • Bowltech English Youth Open in Nuneaton, England
    • 14th International JIC Sinjoor Youth Tournament in Wommelgem, Belgium
    • 12th Jeff de Bruges Youth Tournament in St. Maximin, France
    • 10th Youth Tournament in Zuiderpark, Netherlands
    • 1st International Youth Tournament in Monheim, Germany

    8 girls and 8 boys from each division - Division 1 (19-21 years), Division 2 (15-18 years) and Division 3 (up to 14 years of age) - qualified for the finals. 19 girls and 22 boys took to the 16 lanes in De Meibloem for seven games round robin (20 bonus per win) to determine the three players who advanced to the divisional playoffs.

    The playoffs were conducted in best-of-three games format. In the semifinal-match, the No. 3 seed bowled the No. 2 seed. The winner advanced to the title match against the No. 1 seed. Three of the six top seeded players emerged as champion.
