Daniëlle van der Meer wins five matches to earn Girls Masters crown

Dutch Daniëlle van der Meer defeated five opponents en route to win the Girls Masters crown in the 19th European Youth Championships in Roedovre, Denmark. In the title match in best-of-three games format, van der Meer, the No. 9 seed, topped 11th seeded Melanie Birlinger of Germany two-games-to-one. The Dutch took the early lead with a 202-151, then dropped the second game 143-167, before taking the deciding contest, 215-203.
