Cagnat of Dijon averaged 221,90 over 20 games en route to claim the men's title with 4438 pinfall total. Trailing the new champion by 47 pins to finish in second place was Patrick Glorieux with 4391 (219,55). Nicolas Forestier took the bronze medal with 4335 (216,75).

Planchard stormed to a sensational victory in the women's division. The backup bowler from Orléans dethroned 11-time defending champion Isabelle Saldjian with 4256 20-game pinfall and an average of 212,80. According to Bernard Mora, publisher of 'Bowling Presse' due to her technique, Planchard wasn't selected for the national team since a long time. "Now it's almost certain she will be on the national team," Mora wrote.

Valerie Murat earned the silver medal with 4127 (206,35). Saldjian, who has won eleven consecutive titles from 1995-2005 and twelve in the past 13 years, made the podium in third position with 4077 (203,85).
