Karl-Peter Greulich (left) flew past Robert Wölki, both Germany, 479-355, en route to capture the title in the 2006 AMIKI Open at Amiki Bowling in Lüneburg, Germany.

In the championship match over two game total pinfall, top seeded Greulich started with a huge 266-game to take a commanding 72-pin lead and never looked back. He cruised to victory with a 213-161 win in game two to pocket the 2.500 Euro top prize. Wölki, seeded second in the six-player stepladder finals, was consoled with 2.000 Euro.

Wim van der Veen, who barely made the cut to the stepladder finals in sixth place (7th place finisher Harald Punessen got a seven-count on his first ball in the 10th frame to miss the cut by one pin), won three consecutive matches to leap into third place.

The tall Dutchman eliminated German international Kai Günther in the opening match, 185-167, then ousted Swede Christer Danielson in roll-off, 39-26, after a 188-188 tie in match two. Van der Veen used the momentum to eliminate two-time world champion Martina Beckel, Germany, 232-204, before he lost the semi-final against Wölki, 205-185.

Van der Veen collected 1.500 Euro for third, Beckel earned 1.000 Euro for fourth, Danielson received 700 Euro for fifth and Günther garnered 550 for sixth.
