Katie Jowsey wins PTBC Eliminator by a whisker

Katie Jowsey won two close stepladder matches en route to claim her third Brunswick Team England title of the year in the PTBC Eliminator at Charrington Bowl Tolworth.
In the semifinal, second-seeded Jowsey and Jon Zadel tied at 246 scratch, but the women's 5 pins handicap made the difference. The championship match against No. 1 seed, Wayne Greenall, was even closer. Jowsey finished with a big 275-game and a 280 total. Greenall was even better posting a 279-game just to fall one point short of a tie.
In the opening match of the four-player shootout, Zadel, who survived the cut to top 4 by mere one pin, sidelined Phil Scammell, 276-233. The four players totaled 1555 pins over 6 games (scratch) in the finals, an average of 259,17!
However, as the ranking points were not given based on the final standings but on the qualifying results, qualifying leader Donna Adams overtook the lead in the women's rankings, while Dominic Barrett (7th) remained atop the men's rankings.
