Cheung wins final BTE title in London PTBC Airport Challenge

    2005BTE10ThomasCheung.jpg Thomas Cheung defeated Nick Froggatt, two-games-to-one, in the championship match of the PTBC Airport Challenge in London en route to win the final ranking event of the 2005 Brunswick Team England season.

    Cheung started the match with an easy 226-157 win but Froggatt evened the match with a 243-223, forcing the third game which Cheung won, 224-213.

    Cheung and Donna Adams, who fell to Froggatt in the semis, earned 120 points for winning the men's and women's rankings. It was the second consecutive win for Adams who sealed the victory in the 2005 BTE women's rankings. Dom Barrett, who had a 107-point lead heading into the final event, won the men's rankings.

    Second-placed Wayne Greenall had a chance to beat Barrett if he would have reached the championship match. Greenall made the cut to the top 8 in 7th place but lost in the Round of 8 against Adams (253 and 240), 2-0.
