2006FINBotYOskuPalermaa.jpg The Finnish Bowling Federation has selected Osku Palermaa as the Bowler of the Year 2006. The 23-year-old, who uses the two-handed style, won the election by a landslide.

Palermaa was also selected as the 'Sportsman of the Year' in his home city Espoo, which is not only very important for him but also for the sport of bowling. There are very few cities in Finland who have ever selected a bowler as the Sportsman of the Year.

Without doubt the past year was the best of Osku's career thus far. "Yes it was, but hopefully it will not remain my best one," Osku Palermaa said, looking already into the future.

However, it isn't easy for him to explain why it was such a successful year for him. "Difficult to say, somehow all the pieces just fell to places. But mostly I think that everything is coming from my current life situation."

He states that the engagement with Veronica Lantto of Sweden was the most important thing for him during the last year. "Our life is pretty good and I am happy", Osku says and it sounds as if he's in a good balance. "

"I don’t think that any special part of my bowling has become better, it’s more or less that whole "old man" has grown to become a better package."
