"Vneshtorgbank" Vice-President Alexander Gogolev is the new President of the Russian Sport Bowling Federation By Alexey Kilasov

On Friday, December 15, 2006, the election meeting of the Russian Sport Bowling Federation (RSBF) took place. Joseph Orjonikidze, Vice Mayor of Moscow, was replaced by Alexander Gogolev, Chief Vice President of the "Vneshtorgbank" (VTB), as the Federation President.
The authority transfer took place without conflicts. Joseph Orjonikidze resigned on his own accord.
After the elections the Russian Sport Bowling Federation will focus on an active development program for sport bowling. The quantity of bowling centers in Russia is certainly impressive, but the quality of bowling instructors and athletes is far from being perfect.
Besides this, many bowling centers aren't big enough to host national tournaments, not to talk about international events.
It's interesting to note that Alexander Gogolev, who became the head of the Russian Sport Bowling Federation, is the third CEO of the "Vneshtorgbank", one of the most important sport banks in the country.
VTB President Andrey Kostin has become the head of the Russian Sport Gymnastics Federation in 2006. Another Vice-President, Konstantin Kojevnikov, is the head of the Russian Golf Association.
We would tend to believe that Alexander Gogolev's efforts will be more efficient than Kojevnikov's, who promised three years ago that 500 golf courses would be build in Russia. Not even 10 courses have been built yet.
