Manico and Pari win 2007 Swiss National Championships

    2007CHChampionsLouisPari_BigiManico.jpg Bigi Manico and Louis Pari walked away the winners in the 2007 Swiss National Championships at Bowling Miami in Echandens, Switzerland, on April 1st.

    Manico, from Zurich, averaged 196.50 over nine games round robin and compiled a 4-5 won-lost record en route to capture her sixth career national title and the fourth in five years after finishing second last year.

    The lefty survived a strong charge by Christine Mylonas, who averaged 193.22 and won five of her nine matches to finish mere 20 pins behind Manico in second place with 1789. the bronze medal went to Valérie Cornuz, who was another eleven pins behind in third at 1778.

    Pari from Renens near Lausanne averaged 228.67 over nine games and outaveraged his nearest competitor, Larry Vontobel, by more than nine pins. As both players won seven of their nine matches, Pari topped Vontobel, 2128 to 2045, to secure the title. Göran Persson landed in third place with 2024 (6-3).

    Both champions will represent Switzerland in the European Champions Cup (ECC) from September 17-23 at X-treme Bowling Center in Foetz, Luxembourg.
