Though former Dutch national team member Geert-Jan van Baest (pictured left) did not receive any handicap in the Prince de Liege tournament he walked away the winner at Sunday Oct. 7 at Bowling Le Strike in Crisnée, Belgium.

Van Baest, gold medalist at the 1995 World Championships in Reno with the Dutch 5-player team, posted a 1395 six-game series, an average of 232.50, en route to claim the 2.500 Euro top prize.

He started with games of 205, 235 and 225 or a 665 series on the first pair of lanes. After the lane change, van Baest added 226, 258 and 246 for a huge 730 series to secure the victory.

His compatriot Erik van Sabben was second with 1352 scratch, while Antoine Deudon landed in third place with 1443 including 60 pins handicap. French Yoan Claude Alix was fourth with 1339. Only the top 4 players cracked the 1300-bar.

The Prince de Liege drew 313 players and paid out 8.500 Euro as "traveling expenses".
