Isabelle Saldjian (who else?) and Christophe de Munico win French Nationals

    Isabelle Saldjian and Christophe de Munico captured the titles in the 2005 French National Championships at Bowling Center Thiais, a 32-lanes near the Orly Airport in the south of Paris. Business as usual for Saldjian, who won her 11th consecutive title and the 12th in 13 years.

    The 35-year-old righthander finished the 20 games with 4126 pinfall total and an average of 206,30. Trailing Saldjian by 97 pins to end up in second place was Laetitia Maitre with 4029 (201,45). Catherine Roux was another 118 pins behind maitre in third place with 3911 (195,55).

    De Munico was able to weather a strong challenge by brothers Thierry and Francois Sacco en route to win the title. The new champion checked in with 4394, 20-game total and an average of 219,70. Thierry, the defending champion, settled for second place with 4332 (216,60). Francois, who won the titles in 2002 and 2003 was third with 4271 (213,55).

    The two champions will represent France at the European Cup for Individuals in October in Germany. Saldjian and François Sacco won the French point rankings and qualified for the World Games in Duisburg, Germany, July 14-24.
