Wende and Göbel win 2006 German National Championships

Tomy Wende and Alexandra Göbel claimed the men's and women's titles in the 2006 German National Championships at U.S. Play bowling center in Dresden.
Wende averaged 213,92 over 25 games and compiled the field-best 6-1 won-loss record to finish 38 pins ahead of defending champion Thomas Block. Rainer Köpf earned the bronze medal.
Alexandra (pictured) followed in the footprints of her twin sister Michaela, who won the women's championship in 2004 and 2005, but did not compete in Dresden. Alexandra averaged 196 over 25 games and won four of the seven matches in round robin to ensure the title remained in the family. Manuela Ingram finished second with Susan Christiansen in third.
