2005TimFarenski300.jpg Tim Farenski bowled a perfect game November 9 at City Bowling in Reutlingen, Germany, at age of 12 years and two months and seven days to become one of the youngest - if not the youngest - German to bowl a 300-game.

"I wasn't really that nervous until the final frame", said the right-hander, who was using a 14-pound ball and playing the third arrow. "The 10th and 11th strike were pretty much okay, but before the final shot I starting thinking about what happened the first time."

Tim has been in this situation once before where he left the 4-7 constellation for a 298-score, his high game till Nov. 9. "I was thinking 'please, not again'. Then I focused on my execution, hit the right pocket and got the strike."

Tim, who started with bowling in 2003, competes in an adult league and leads the league rankings currently averaging 183,4 average. His personal records for three and six games are 747 and 1492.

Unfortunately for him and his team BSV Reutlingen the perfect game won't be sanctioned by the German Bowling Federation (DBU) as Tim accomplished the feat during practice for league bowling. This may have been the reason why the only award he got was a 300-game pin from the bowling center and a "danke schön" (thank you) from the team officials.

However, even if the perfecto would be sanctioned, nobody could tell Tim if he has made history in Germany or not as no such record list exists - at least not for youth bowlers.

The European records for boys are nothing but championship records established during the European Youth Championships. Swede Tobias Karlsson holds the record since the 1994 EYC in Helsinki, Finland, when he posted a 300-game at age of 17 years and five months en route to win the silver medal in All Events.

The youngest Young American Bowling Association member to bowl a 300 is Josey LaRocco of Louisville, Ky., who at 10 years and six months bowled a perfect game on February 14, 1998.
