    Super Six Bowling Tour Västeras

Nina_Flack_5738.jpg Swedish female bowlers claimed back-to-back victories in the final two events of the 2005 Super Six Bowling Tour in Sweden.

After Malin Glendert made history when she became the first woman to win a tournament on the SSB Tour, Nina Flack made it two in a row when she flew past World Champion Anders Öhman, 274-161, to win the tour stop in Västeras. The Swedish international pocketed 40.000 Swedish Kronor for her efforts, approx. 4244 Euro or 5059 Dollar.

The top 4 players, Flack, Öhman, Peter Ljung and once gain Malin Glendert met in the semifinals with the two winners advancing to the championship match. Flack, 20, defeated Ljung in the first semifinal, 231-225 (226-225 scratch) to bowl 3-time World Champion Anders Öhman for the title.

Nina remained cool and threw eight strikes in a row from frame two to put the match away well before the final frame en route to secure the biggest win in her career. "I played my best bowling when it counted the most," said Nina, who missed the cut in the qualifying but earned a spot in the finals thanks to a 248-game in the one-game Desperado Squad.

Öhman was already struggling in the semifinal when he ended Glendert's dream for back-to-back titles with a close 193-185 victory. "I tried to change my game because I couldn't strike in the semifinal," Öhman said. "You can't rely on your opponent's mistakes. You have to try to win by your own strength."

The Super Six Tour 2005 will end with the men's and women's finals to be played during the AIK International Tournament in Stockholm, which is also the first stop of the 2006 SSB Tour.

The top six men and six women of the Super Six Bowling Tour ranking qualified for the finals. Tommy Wendel, Tobias Melin, Tobias Karlsson, Magnus Andersson, Tomas Leandersson and Mikael Kanold will bowl for the men's title while Glendert, Flack, Helen Johnsson, Johanna Melin, Rebecka Larsen and Anna Mattsson-Baard battle it out for the Ladies winner.
