Eklund shoots 279 to win first SSST title in Eskilstuna

Swede Dennis Eklund connected for eleven strikes in a row in the championship match of the Eskilstuna Tournament to easily win his first title on the Swedish Super Six Tour. The 26-year-old from Stockholm flew past Björn Wedin, 279-188, to pocket the top prize of 40.000 Swedish Kronor, approx. 4.300 Euro.
The tournament was the third stop of the 2006 Tour. Eklund reached the finals of the last stop in Lidingö but was eliminated in the semi-finals after a disastrous 135-game on TV.
Eklund came from behind in the Eskilstuna semi-final, when he closed out the match with a five-bagger to defeat Swedish International Helen Johnsson, 235-210. In the other semi-final, Björn Wedin won a hard fought battle against top seeded Mikael Larsson, 194-177.
