Korea's Jung Da-Wun, Hong Hae-Sol sweep the titles in 45th Singapore Open

Top seeded Jung Da-Wun and Hong Hae-Sol (pictured r-l) needed just one game to win the women's and men's Open Masters title in the 45th Singapore International Open Tenpin Bowling Championships Saturday at Orchid Bowl.
The top four men and the top four women after 16 games advanced to the stepladder finals. Both championship matches were an all-Korean affair.
In the men's three-player shootout semifinals, Korean standout Choi Bok-Eum, seeded third, eliminated defending champion Shaker Al Hassan, UAE, and No. 2 seed Derek Chan, 195-193-150, to meet his fellow national team member Hong in the final showdown.

Hong made quick work of Choi, 225-174, to wrap up the title. The winner pocketed Singapore $20,000 (approx. US$16,000). Choi received S$10,000 for second place. Chan earned S$5,000 for third and Shaker garnered S$3,000 for fourth place.
On the women's side, a Korean trio finished the 16-game preliminary rounds atop the leaderboard with Singapore's Kristel Oh in fourth place. Jung, who averaged 214.19 for 16 games, had to sit and wait for the winner of the shootout match.
Third seeded Kim Moon-Jeong (235) flew past No. 2 Gye Min-Young (192) and Oh (177) to earn the right to bowl Jung for the title. The game was decided in the 10th frame in which Jung reeled off two consecutive strikes to seal the victory, 213-202.

Jung earned the S$6,000 top prize. Kim received S$3,000 for second place while Gye and Oh earned $1,500 and $1,000 for third and fourth place, respectively.
