KegelPortableLaneMapper.jpg Throughout the late 1990's, while the official lane maintenance provider for the PBA Tour, Kegel developed and used an innovative piece of machinery called the Lane Mapper to study the topographical features of bowling lanes all over the United States.

At that time, with the assistance of the PBA semi-trailers, transporting this lane machine sized lane mapper was not a big concern. But as Kegel continued with the study of bowling and ventured out to bowling events all over the world, it became apparent the lane mapper needed to become more portable.

With the development of electronic and hardware technology catching up to these portable needs, Kegel now introduces the all new portable Kegel Lane Mapper.

With over nine years in development to better understand and serve the sport of bowling, the portable Kegel Lane Mapper will be available to users such as World Federations, local USBC associations, lane certification inspectors, commercial lane installers and resurfacers.

The Kegel Lane Mapper is able to measure crowns, depressions, crosswise tilts and lengthwise tilts to an accuracy of .001 inch. It will measure every board across the lane surface at whatever distance the user requires.

When lanes are measure using hand tools, approximately 100 points of measurement can take over 80 minutes per lane. The new Kegel Lane Mapper will measure over 900 points and decrease the time to 12 minutes per lane, with more accuracy.

With the accompanying Kegel Lane Mapper software, the user can generate custom reports of the findings.

Using the power of rechargeable batteries and the computing power of the same reliable PLC's used in the Kegel Lane Machine line, the Kegel Lane Mapper will now be able to bring the forever invisible topography character of a bowling lane, visible for all.
