Yousif Falah, Angkana Netrviseth win the titles in 14th Sinai International Open

Yousif Falah of Bahrain and Thailand's Angkana Netrviseth won the men's and women's open division of the 14th Sinai International Open Bowling Tournament from top seed.
In the men's title match, Falah won his second Sinai Open title and the $12,000 top prize with a 191-181 victory over No. 4 seed Basel Al-Anzi, Kuwait. Netrviseth edged No. 2 seed, Hanadi Al-Muzail, Kuwait, 224-220, to wrap up the women's title worth $4,500.
Despite offering a total prize fund of 74.100 U.S. Dollar, the 14th Sinai International Open Bowling Tournament drew only 78 players from 13 countries - 64 men and 14 women - to the International Bowling Center in Nasr City in suburban Cairo, Egypt. The top 4 men and the top 4 women advanced to the stepladder finals.
Falah, who won the tournament in 2009, earned the men's No. 1 seed averaging 250.1 over ten games including four 270s. The Bahraini had to sit and wait for the winner of the shoot-out match between No. 2 seed Badin Lerdpiriyasakulkit, Thailand; No. 3 seed Mohamed Sultan, Kuwait; and Al-Anzi.
Al-Anzi survived the nail-biter with a 232 game, while Lerdpiriyasakulkit and Sultan tied at 228. The Thai bowler secured the third place in a one-ball roll-off. Al-Anzi pocketed $6,000 for second place, Lerdpiriyasakulkit took $4,500 for third place and Sultan garnered $3,000 for fourth place.
In the women's division, Netrviseth outaveraged her nearest competitor Al-Muzail by more than 23 pins averaging 233.63 over ten games to earn the No. 1 seed. Al-Muzail, who received $2,500 for second place, eliminated Samantha Hannan, England, and defending champion Mennat Soltan, Egypt, in the shoot-out match, 231-225-192.
Hannan got $1,500 for third place and Soltan, who won the 12th Sinai Open in 2010 (the 13th edition in 2011 has been canceled), received $1,000 for fourth place.
The top 16 Asian men (no women's division) qualified for the fourth leg of 2012 Asian Bowling Federation Tour Egypt leg.
