Paul Moor (pictured left) of England averaged 256.50 Friday at Leisureplex Stillorgan in Dublin, Ireland, to shoot into the lead in the men's division of the 26th Storm Irish Open Tenpin Bowling Championships.

The 13-time European Bowling Tour titlist fired games of 246, 246, 279, 222, 278 and 268 to lead the 149-player field with 1539. His compatriot Chris Oates had all games between 279 and 215 to leap into second place with 1474 (245.67).

Previous leader Giancarlo Ragusa (right) of Belgium slipped two spots to third place with 1469 (244.83). Simon English of Ireland rolled the tournament's second 300 game in the fifth game of a 1428 series to sit in 11th place overall.

Kerena Dykes of Ireland remained unchallenged in the women's division as she leads the 35-player field with 1416 or an average of 236. Trailing Dykes by 95 pins to sit in second place is Jo Allsebrook of England, who had a 1321 series Friday including games of 257, 213, 223, 236, 229 and a low game of 163.

Sweden's Annie Thorell slipped to third place with 1318 and is followed by Amanda Larkin, Ireland, with 1314.

Qualifying continues Saturday morning with Squad 9 starting at 8.30 a.m. local time (CET +1) and concludes with the Desperado Squad slated for 12.15 p.m.

The 26th Storm Irish Open Tenpin Bowling Championships run from January 15-19 at 18-lane Leisureplex Stillorgan in Dublin, Ireland. Men and women bowl in separate division. The tournament offers total prize fund of 17.500 Euro. The men's champion receives the 4.000 Euro top prize, while the women's champion gets 1.000 Euro.

Qualifying (six games, unlimited re-entries) started on Tuesday, Jan. 15 and runs through Saturday, Jan. 18. Once all qualifying squads have been completed, 86 men and 23 women will qualify for the finals on Saturday afternoon and Sunday.

The field will be trimmed to 16 men and 16 women, who will determine the champions in single-elimination match play over two games, total pin fall.
