Korea's Hwang Sung Hyun and Lee Young Seung finished the qualifying in the 2015 Macau China International Open atop the men's and women's open division leaderboard to lead 40 men and 30 women into the finals Sunday and Monday at COTAI Bowling Center in Macau, China.

Hwang (pictured left) posted three-game series of 791 and 772 to lead the overseas pool with 1563 total and an average of 260.50. His compatriot Lee Jae Jung was mere eleven pins behind in second place with 1552 (258.67), including the lone 800-series of 802.

Third-place Daisuke Yoshida (right) of Japan, who rolled the first of three perfect games in qualifying, was the last player who surpassed the magic 1500-mark with 1504 1504 (250.67).

Ten local bowlers including four seeded Macau national team members, the top 11 from the overseas pool and the top 19 of the mixed pool advanced. Annop Arromasaranon of Thailand took the last spot with 1427 or an average of 237.83.

Lee Young Seung (left) was the lone woman who bowled two series over 700, 754 and 717, to win the qualifying with 1471 total and an average of 245.17 for six games.

Singapore's Kristin Quah (right) posted 772, the highest three-game set in the women's division, and added 666 to finish in second place with 1438.

Korean's Kim So Yeon and Hong Hae Ni tied at 1406 to make the cut in third and fourth place, respectively. Seven local women including three seeded Macau national team members, the top 9 from the overseas pool and the top 14 of the mixed pool advanced.

Wang Ting Wen of Chinese Taipei hit the cutoff number with 1258 or an average of 209.67.

The 40 men and the 30 women will bowl 12 games from scratch, 6 games on Sunday and six games on Monday, to cut to the top six men and the top six women for the stepladder finals starting at 5 p.m. China Standard Time (CST) Monday afternoon.

In the opening match 4th, 5th & 6th seeded bowlers will bowl one game. The bowler with the highest score will meet the No. 2 and No. 3 seed in the semifinal match with the winner advancing to the championship match. The top-seeded bowler must be defeated twice to win the title.

The top 16 Asian men and top 8 Asian women will qualify for the sixth leg of the 2015 Asian Bowling Federation Tour to be held June 23 also at COTAI bowling center in Macau.
