    Wu Siu Hong.jpg Shalin_Zulkifli_4259.jpg Wu Siu Hong of Hong Kong ended the year 2001 as the top-ranked player in the men's Asian rankings. The 17-year-old accumulated 299 ranking points, five more than Remy Ong, Singapore, and 7 more than Ahmed Shaheen, Qatar.

    Shalin Zulkifli of Malaysia finished as the women's ranking leader for the second consecutive year. Zulkifli garnered 470 points. Wang Yu Ling, Chines Taipei (424) and Cecilia Yap, Philippines (405) ended in second and third place resp.
