Al-Suwaidi, Joh Six lead men's and women's qualifying in 35th Hong Kong International Open

    2009WUSOSaraVargas.jpgCurrent Asian Bowling Federation ranking leader Hussain Al-Suwaidi finished the qualifying in the 35th Hong Kong International Open atop the men's leaderboard with 1017 4-game total, an average of 254.25, to lead 36 men into the next round.

    On the women's side, reigning ABF Tour Tournament of Champions winner Tang Joh Six, Malaysia, led Colombia's Sara Vargas (pictured) by 32 pins, 941 to 909.

    A total of 36 men and 28 women will bowl 8 games each on Friday and Saturday starting from scratch before the cut to the top 6 men and top 6 women, who will advance to the stepladder finals.

    The top 16 Asian men and top 16 Asian women also qualify for the sixth event of the Asian Bowling Federation Tour which will be held on Sunday, Oct. 4 also at Hong Kong Bowling City.
