Kulick, Al-Hassan win the titles in 44th Singapore International Open

Kelly Kulick (pictured left) of the United States and UAE's Shaker Al-Hassan walked away the winners in the women's and men's Open Masters division of the 44th Singapore International Open at Orchid Bowl in Singapore.
Kulick, the only non-Asian woman in the 30-player Masters final, averaged 212.69 over 16 games to earn the No. 1 seed for the stepladder finals with the advantage that the top seed must be defeated twice to win the title.
In the opening shoot-out match, third-seeded Jazreel Tan of Singapore ousted No. 2 Tannya Roumimper, Indonesia, 49-40, in roll-off after a 203-203 tie. Daphne Tan, Singapore, was eliminated with 198.
Jazreel Tan, the Bowling Writers Association of America 2010-11 Collegiate Bowler of the Year, carried the momentum into the title match defeating the PBA exempt player, 215-196, to force a decider. Kulick rebounded with a 226-210 win to claim the 44th Singapore International Open women's title worth 6,000 Singapore Dollar, approx. 4,880 U.S. Dollar.
Jazreel Tan received $3,000 for second place. Roumimper got $1,500 for third and Daphne Tan garnered $1,000 for fourth place.

Al-Dubyyan, who edged Al-Hassan by 12 pins after 16 games to earn the top seed, fell to the UAE bowler, 269-203, but got a second chance. In he decisive match, Al-Hassan wrapped up his second Singapore Open title after 2009 with a 215-180 win en route to earn the S$20,000 top prize.
Al-Dubyyan received $10,000 for second place while Ong and Ridhwan pocketed $5,000 and $3,000 for third and fourth place, respectively.
