Shahaf Antin, Ben Fishler to represent Israel at World Cup in South Africa

Shahaf Antin and Ben Fishler won the women's and men's division of the Israeli World Cup qualifier at Gan Shmuel bowling center and will represent their country at the 47th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup to be held at
Northcliff bowling center in Johannesburg, South Africa from Nov. 30 through Dec. 7, 2011.
45 players bowled 18 games of preliminaries over three days to cut to the top eight men and women. Or Aviram and Sarit Mizrahi earned the No. 1 seed and advanced to the championship match. Second seeded Oron Cohen and Sara Aviram, Or's mother, bypassed the quarterfinal in best-of-three games format.
Fishler, who took the eighth and last spot for the men's finals by just one pin, eliminated No. 3 seed, Aviv Alfital, two-games-to-one. Also advancing to the semifinals were No. 4 Shahar Efrati and No. 6 Gal Shemer.
Shemer defeated Efrati in the semifinal, 2-1, including a 290 game in the decider. Fisher, the lowest seed had to take on No. 2 Oron Cohen and advanced to the title match with a 207-202 win in the deciding third game.
The three remaining players bowled two games with the total pinfall determining the winner. Fishler started with a 245 game and never looked back. He secured the victory with a 184 game and 429 total. Or Aviram was second with 410 and Shemer finished third with 388.
2010 European Youth Championships Masters gold medalist Shahaf Antin was the No. 3 seed in the women's finals. She eliminated Lin Fishler, Ben's sister, in the quarterfinals two-games-to-none. No. 4 Edva Eliav and No. 6 Hana Duanis also swept their opponents to go to the semifinal.
Duanis eliminated second seeded Sara Aviram with a 144-135 win in the decider, while Antin flew past Eliav in the third game, 215-158.
The women's championship match was a low-scoring encounter in which Antin (339) topped No. 1 seed Sarit Mizrahi (333) and Duanis (302) for the title.
