The Brunswick Aalborg International 2009 is the 7th stop of the 2009 European Bowling Tour and one of the Tour's "Majors". The BAI will be held at Lovvang Bowling Center in Aalborg, Denmark, from May 18-24, 2009.

The total prize fund is 62.000 Euro with 10.000 Euro going to the winner. Women receive 8 pins handicap each game. As an EBT Major, there are 100 ranking points at stake for the winner of the men's and women's rankings, respectively.

The tournament is the last event that counts toward qualifying for the PBA World Series in August. The EBT has decided to give the exemption to the highest ranked player in the men's division after seven stops.

Qualifying (6 games, unlimited re-entries) runs through Saturday, May 23 with the final qualifying squad 14 scheduled for 8pm.

A total of 48 players will qualify for the finals on Sunday, May 24, the top 38 players from the overall qualifying standings plus the top three players each from a combined standing of Squads 1-3 and 4-6 which are not among the top 3, and the top 4 from the Desperado Squad.

The top 12 qualifiers will earn two byes, while players seeded 13-24 will bypass the first round of the finals.

The finals in Aalborg are a 4-game scratch contest over four round which will bring the field down to the top 4, who will determine the champion in semifinals (No. 1 vs. No. 4; No. 2 vs. No. 3) and a championship match, each over two games total pinfall.
