In its sixth season since the inception in the year 2011, the
2016 World Bowling Tour features eight regular tournaments, including six in the Middle East, and one each in Germany and Thailand. The ninth event and the only WBT "major" this season is the PBA World Series of Bowling VIII to be staged from November 27 through December 11, 2016 at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno, Nev., United States. World Bowling Tour Thailand scheduled for August 6-12 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Due to the recent changes in the leadership of World Bowling, bowling's world governing body, the announcement of the preliminary schedule for the 2016 World Bowling Tour was postponed until Monday, Jan. 4. The schedule currently features 10 tournaments, including six in the Middle East, two in the U.S., and one each in Germany and Thailand. The lone WBT "major" on the schedule so far will be the PBA World Championship to be held in Reno, Nev., in December 2016.
