Wu Siu Hong ends World Youth Championship with win in Masters

P.S. Bowl in Pattaya, Thailand (August 4-11, 2002)

2001 Asian rankings leader Wu Siu Hong of Hong Kong ended the 7th World Youth Tenpin Bowling Championship at P.S. Bowl in Pattaya, Thailand, with victory in the Boys Masters. Siu Hong posted some big scores on his way to the title. The No. 3 seed ousted Swede Martin Larsen in the semi-final, 261-191, then topped tournament leader Kim Ko-Woon, Korea, 431-400, to claim the title. ##

Swedish boys triumph in team event

P.S. Bowl in Pattaya, Thailand (August 4-11, 2002)

Sweden now owns both the men's and the boys' World Championship team title. Robert Anderson, Mats Olsson, Jonni Kemppainen and Martin Larsen set new championship records over three team-games (2590, 215,83) and six team-games (5074, 211,42) to win the title in the boys' the 4-player team event at the 7th World Youth Championship in Pattaya, Thailand.

Gold and bronze for Korea's boys in doubles

Korea's boys captured gold and bronze in the doubles competition at the 7th World Youth Championship in Pattaya, Thailand. Son Won Lak and Kim Ho-Yoon claimed the title with 2532 pinfall total and a 211 average. Their teammates Kim Young-Hun and Kim Ko-Woon checked in at 2500, good for the bronze medal.

Yannaphon Larpapharat wins second gold for Thailand

Thailand's youth bowlers used the home advantage to sweep the gold medals in the boys' and girls singles' event at the 7th World Youth Championship. Just one day after Angkana Netruiseth has become the first gold medallist of the event her teammate Yannaphon Larpapharat took the title in the boys' division. The 19-year-old averaged 228,17 and had a 6-game total of 1369.
