Revamped team lineups, new managers, new competition format, MVP award on tap for 2014
When team owner Billie Jean King raised the Elias Cup over her head with the help of her victorious New York City WTT KingPins bowlers last April on ESPN, the first season of the PBA League was complete – and work on improving the groundbreaking team concept began. The 2014 season will include a variety of enhancements, including revamped team lineups, the addition of team managers, new competition formats, and a special new Mark Roth PBA League MVP Award.
Season includes expanded PBA League, Summer Swing, World Series VI and WBT International events
The Professional Bowlers Associationwill return to a traditional calendar year schedule in 2014. The new season - the PBA's 55th consecutive year - will include an expanded PBA League, three major championships, a renewal of the PBA Summer Swing and 46 hours of nationally–televised PBA Tour competition, not including a preliminary schedule of nine World Bowling Tour/PBA International Tour events conducted in cooperation with the World Tenpin Bowling Association.
