Entire GEICO PBA Summer Shootout airs Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Storm Products will take a three-point lead into the final qualifying rounds of the GEICO PBA Summer Shootout that will air Saturday at noon ET on ESPN. Saturday's one-shot, low-score-out singles and doubles rounds will lead into a position round, Eliminator Doubles Shootout round, and stepladder finals which will air Sunday on ESPN, starting at 1 p.m. ET.
For fans who missed the first four matches last weekend, ESPN2 will re-broadcast those matches on Friday at 7 p.m. ET. Those shows were originally scheduled to air on Saturday, July 7, on ESPN, but were pre-empted by rain-delayed Wimbledon tennis coverage and aired Sunday, July 8, on ESPN2.
The PBA Manufacturers Cup and a $45,000 first prize will be awarded to the winner of Sunday's stepladder finals.
PBA's Xtra Frame online bowling channel will provide two days of live coverage of the 13th Luci Bonneau Memorial Striking Against Breast Cancer Mixed Doubles Tournament, July 21-22 from Palace Lanes in Houston, Texas.
The tournament, founded by Donna Conners, honors her long-time friend and fellow Professional Women's Bowling Association competitor who lost her life to breast cancer. The event is sponsored by Storm Products, Carol "Stormin" Norman's Pro Shop and others. Proceeds benefit the Stehlin Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.
A number of PBA Tour competitors will be in the field, and will participate in a pro-am event preceding the tournament. If a PBA member(s) wins the event, he and/or she will earn PBA Regional titles for the first time.
Rhino Page (pictured left) of Dade City, Fla., defeated Scott Newell of Deland, Fla., 300-213, 269-201, in their best-of-three-game title match to win his fifth PBA South Region title in the Gastonia (N.C.) Chameleon Championship presented by Columbia 300 at Liberty Lanes Sunday. Page earned $2,500 for his second straight PBA South Regional victory.
The Gastonia tournament also was the second of the PBA South Region's four "animal pattern" championship events. Newell swept Lee Vanderhoef, Greenville, S.C., 255-251, 199-172, in a semifinal round battle for the paid PBA World Series of Bowling entry, awarded to the highest-finishing player who entered the optional program.
In the PBA West Region, Allen Blansette of Napa, Calif., posted a 10-6 match play record and knocked down a total of 6,070 pins Sunday to win his second PBA Regional title in the Vanessa Brown Homes Viper Open at Yosemite Lanes in Modesto, Calif.
Blansette, who earned $2,000, defeated Ross Packard of San Jose, Calif., by 100 pins for the title and he also claimed the World Series entry in the third of the West Region's four "animal pattern" championship events.
In Johnsburg, Ill., Dave Beres (left) of Waukesha, Wis. and Lennie Boresch (right) of Kenosha, Wis. defeated top qualifiers Derek Eoff of Madison, Wis., and Wayne Webb of Columbus, Ohio, 459-439, to win the PBA Midwest Region Miller Lite Regular/Senior Doubles sponsored by Allstate Insurance at Raymond's Bowl & Entertainment Sunday.
The win gave Beres four and Boresch 26 career PBA Regional titles. Each earned $2,500. Eoff, who finished second for the third week in a row, and Webb, a PBA Hall of Famer, won $1,400 each for second while Pete Weber of St. Ann, Mo., and Tom Baker of King, N.C. – both PBA Hall of Famers – won $1,100 each for third.
In Liverpool, N.Y., top qualifier Brian LeClair of Athens, N.Y. defeated Darryl Bower of Middletown, Pa., 247-223, to win the PBA East Region Bethmann-Russell Syracuse Open at Flamingo Bowl Sunday. LeClair earned $2,500 along with his 14th career PBA Regional title.
A busy July of PBA Regional competitions continues over the July 13-15 weekend with the East Region's Mil-Ray Foods Senior Open presented by Roto Grip at Playdrome in Cherry Hill, N.J., the PBA Southwest Region Lubbock (Texas) Cheetah Open at South Plains Lanes, and a joint PBA Midwest/Central Region Wood Dale Senior Open sponsored by Allstate Insurance at Wood Dale (Ill.) Bowl.
"Animal pattern" action picks up July 20-22 with the PBA South Region Spring Hill (Fla.) Cheetah Open at Spring Hill Lanes; the PBA East Region Cap Card Scorpion Open presented by Columbia 300 at Cedar Lanes in Lebanon, Pa; the PBA Central Region Dan Kondas Memorial Scorpion Open presented by DV8, and the PBA Midwest Region Illinois Valley Viper Classic presented by Storm at Illinois Valley Super Bowl in Peru, Ill.
The July 20-22 schedule also includes the PBA Southwest Region's Luci Bonneau Memorial Striking Against Breast Cancer Mixed Doubles at Palace Lanes in Houston and a joint PBA West/Northwest Region Sands Regency Regular/Senior Doubles event, presented by Ebonite, at High Sierra Lanes in Reno, Nev.
Rounding out the July schedule over the July 26-29 weekend will be the PBA East Region Appletree Classic hosted by Mid County Lanes in Middletown, Del.; a joint PBA Midwest/Central Region Laraway Lanes Senior Open presented by Allstate Insurance in New Lenox, Ill.; a joint Midwest/Central Region Dragon Palace Open presented by Ebonite at Orland Bowl in Orland Park, Ill.; the PBA South Region's Anderson (S.C.) Senior Open at Boulevard Lanes, and the PBA West Region's Ebonite/South Point Mixed Doubles at South Point Bowling Center in Las Vegas.
In all PBA regional animal pattern championships, players can pay an optional animal pattern entry fee for the right to win a paid entry into the PBA World Series of Bowling, Nov. 2-11 at South Point Bowling Center in Las Vegas.
In all seven PBA Regions, the player who accumulates the highest number of competition points in the region's four animal pattern events (Cheetah, Scorpion, Chameleon and Viper) will earn a World Series entry, whether or not he participates in the "optional" entry program.
