The field of 151 men and 41 women in the 26th Storm Irish Open Tenpin Bowling Championships was trimmed to 24 men and 16 women Saturday at Leisureplex Stillorgan in Dublin, Ireland.

Gary Redpath of Scotland paced men's Round Three with 1480 and an average of 246.67 for six games to lead the top 20 into the fourth round where they will meet the top 4 qualifiers, Paul Moor (pictured left), England; Chris Oates, England; Giancarlo Ragusa, Belgium; and Brett Armer, England.

Nineth place Paul Green set a high light by rolling a perfect game in his 1395 series.

After another six games scratch, the top 16 will advance to the single-elimination match play finals with the two-game total determining the winner.

The women's field is already down to 16 players as Senior World Champion Christel Carlsson (right), Sweden, averaged 235.75 in Round 2 to lead the top 11 players into the first match play round. Those 11, seeded 6th to 16th, will meet the top 4 qualifiers, Kerena Dykes, Ireland; Jo Allsebrook, England; Annie Thorell, Norway and Amanda Larkin, Ireland (seeded 1-4) and the winner of the Desperado Squad, Line Berg Almestrand of Norway (seeded 5th).

In each of the match play rounds, the highest-seeded player meets the lowest-seeded player, the second-highest seeded player bowls the second-lowest seeded player etc. The 26th Storm Irish Open Tenpin Bowling Championships run from January 15-19 at 18-lane Leisureplex Stillorgan in Dublin, Ireland. Men and women bowl in separate division. The tournament offers total prize fund of 17.500 Euro. The men's champion receives the 4.000 Euro top prize, while the women's champion gets 1.000 Euro.

Qualifying (six games, unlimited re-entries) started on Tuesday, Jan. 15 and ran through Saturday, Jan. 18. 86 men and 23 women qualified for the finals on Saturday afternoon and Sunday.

The field will be trimmed to 16 men and 16 women, who will determine the champions in single-elimination match play over two games, total pins.
