Chinese Taipei women capture gold in Trios event

    2006ASCChenHsiuLan_TsaiHsinYi_WangYuLing.jpg Starting the day in fifth place, Chien Hsiu-Lan, Tsai Hsin-Yi and Wang Yu-Ling (l-r) of Chinese Taipei, rolled games of 688, 616 and 574 on short oil to capture the title in the women's trios event in the 19th Asian Championships at Jaya Ancol Bowl in Jakarta, Indonesia. The champions posted a 3701 pinfall total and averaged 205,61 for six games.

    Silver and bronze went to Korea. Kim Hyo Mi, Gang Hye Eun and Kim Yeau Jin overtook long-oil leaders Hwang Sun Ok, Gye Min Young and Nam Bo Ra in game five and secured the silver medal with 3675 to 3639.

    2006ASCWomenTriosKorea1-2.jpg Hwang Sun Ok, Gye Min Young and Nam Bo Ra (front row) took the lead in the women's trios event at the 19th Asian Championships after three out of six games. The Koreans felled 1880 pins and averaged 208,89 on the long oil pattern. Their team mates Kim Hyo Mi, Gang Hye Eun and Kim Yeau Jin (back row) were second with 1866. Third place belonged to Singapore's Jennifer Tan, Cherie Tan and Evelyn Chan with 1859.
