The Korean women's team posted the highest 3-game series on short and on long oil to win the gold medal in the 19th Asian Championships at Jaya Ancol Bowl in Jakarta, Indonesia. Hwang Sun Ok, Kim Hyo Mi, Gang Hye Eun, Nam Bo Ra, Kim Yeau Jin and Gye Min Young started with a huge 1155-set on short oil en route to a 6087 six-game total and an average of 202,90.

The host country of Indonesia with Tannya Roumimper, Raniia Nugroho, Ivana Hie, Go Lily, Putty Armein and Shalima Zalsha was second after day one and finished with a 1033-game on long oil to secured the silver medal with 5673 pinfall total and an average of 189,10.

The Japanese women Yuka Tsuchiya, Kumi Tsuzawa, Maki Nakano, Kanako Ishimine, Ayano Katai and Haruka Matsuda stormed from sixth to third place to earn the bronze medal. The team was mere 26 pins behind Korea on long oil (2956 to 2930) to overtake China (4th), Chinese Taipei (5th) and the Philippines (6th) with 5620 and an average of 187,33.

Reigning World Team champion Malaysia landed in 8th and penultimate place with 5442 pinfall total and an average of 181,40. The team had a high game of 970 and finished with a low game of 820. World Youth Masters champion Sharon Koh led the Malaysian team with 194,83 average for six games.
