2011WWCLogo.jpg HKGSportsFederationOlympicCommitteeLogo.jpgThe Organizing Committee has announced the Schedule of Events for the Women's World Championships and the Presidium Meetings and Congresses to be held in September in Hong Kong, China.

The nine-day competition takes place at bowling center Hong Kong Bowling City, a 40-laner located at EMAX mall in Kowloon Bay, from Saturday Sept. 3 through Sunday, Sept. 11.

Due to the lower number of participating countries (36) and players (approx. 185), the schedule was trimmed almost every day by a couple of hours. There will be three Singles and Doubles squads instead of four. The Trios will be split into two squads instead of three and the five-player teams will compete all together.

The longest day is Friday, Sept. 2, the day of the official practice with Opening Ceremonies finishing at 8.30 p.m. local time. Singles, Doubles and the first day of the Trios and Team competition will be done between 1.30 and 5 p.m. Trios, Team and Masters finals and award ceremonies take a little longer but will finish no later than 7 p.m.

The presidiums of the World Tenpin Bowling Association (WTBA) and Federation Internationale des Quilleurs (FIQ) will meet on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 9 and 10 while the Congresses are set for Sept. 12-14.
