Danielle McEwan of Stony Brook, New York, has been chosen as the March 2016 Kegel Bowler of the Month by the International Bowling Media Association. McEwan defeated Yousif Falah, Bahrain, 540-416 in a two-game total pins match to claim the H.H. Emir Cup 2016, her first World Bowling Tour title.

The four-bowler semi finals began with McEwan downing Daphne Tan, Singapore, 435-422. Falah ousted Marshall Kent, United States, 498-361, for the other spot in the championship match.

McEwan qualified fourth with a 228 average advancing her to Step 3 Finals. After eight more games, the 2015 Smithfield PWBA Tour Championship winner qualified third for the Step 4 Final against the second-seeded Tan.

McEwan received eight pins per game of handicap granted each woman during a WBT event, thus does not receive credit for a PBA title.

The current leader on the World Bowling Tour’s two-year women’s rolling points leader is coming off one of her biggest wins, the WBT Women’s Finals. McEwan defeated a pair of women’s bowling legends Liz Johnson and Kelly Kulick to that title in February.

Others obtaining consideration in close voting this month were Ahmed Al-Awadhi, winner of the 14th Kingdom of Bahrain International Bowling Championship, Jesper Svensson, winner of the 13th Brunswick Euro Challenge, and Clara Juliana Guerrero, winner of the PBA Odessa Southwest Regional.
