Dolfijn Bowling in Tilburg, Netherlands, burned down last night but thankfully, no one was injured. The 20-laner known was the host center of the European Bowling Tour’s Hammer Bronzen Schietspoel Tournament.

According to Luc Jansen, who did a wonderful job of running a first-class event with his staff, the fire started last night around 11 p.m. behind lanes 11 and 12. Within minutes the fire spread around the bowling center (pictured above).

“About 200 guests were inside at that moment”, Jansen stated, but “the Dolfijn staff did a great job and evacuated everybody outside”. There were no injuries reported, yet two of the staff members were examined for inhaling smoke.

This morning the remaining walls of the bowling were tore down (pictured below). Dolfijn Bowling owner Thomas Dol said that he wants to rebuild the center, but how and when is not certain at this time.

Most of the 190 members of the club lost all their equipment in the fire. Dolfijn pro shop and Kegel Training Center Europe were also destroyed.

“For me, I have no idea what will happen with the 2017 Schietspoel tournament. If the bowling can be rebuilt before that we will go ahead as scheduled. We will know in a couple of weeks”, Jansen said.
