PBA Fall Classic to return to South Point Bowling Plaza

The Professional Bowlers Association Fall Classic, featuring a pair of PBA Tour title events, will return to South Point Bowling Plaza in Las Vegas Oct. 28-Nov. 1, in advance of the U.S. Open which also will be held at South Point Nov. 3-9.

The PBA Fall Classic presented by South Point Bowling Plaza will include two events that will be covered from start-to-finish by PBA’s Xtra Frame online video-streaming service – the PBA Xtra Frame Las Vegas Open singles event, Oct. 28-30, and the return of the five-player PBA Team Challenge Oct. 30-Nov. 1, which this year will award PBA Tour titles to all five team members (if they are PBA members).

The Las Vegas Open officially gets underway with 16 qualifying games for all players on Saturday, Oct. 29, followed by 16 games of round-robin match play for the 16 top qualifiers on Sunday. A five-player stepladder final will complete the event Sunday.

Entry fees for the Las Vegas Open will be $300 for PBA members and $350 for non-members. The field is limited to the first 120 entries. First prize is $10,000 guaranteed, and the XF Las Vegas Open will be the 11th event in the 2016 Xtra Frame PBA Tour series, offering a $10,000 bonus to the overall points leader.

Following a team practice session on Sunday, Oct. 30, the PBA Team Challenge will include six full team games and 12 Baker format qualifying games on Monday, Oct. 31. The top 10 teams (based on 60 entries) will advance to Baker format round-robin match play Tuesday, Nov. 1, leading into the four-team Baker format stepladder finals.

Entry fee for the PBA Team Challenge will be $500 per PBA member/$600 for non-members. First prize for the winning team will be $30,000 along with PBA Tour titles for team members who are PBA members.

Entries for both events will be accepted beginning on July 1.
